Tribute to

Dixie Belle Tucker

My sweet belle belle was at a local walmart along with her siblings on election day 2008! She was the only one who looked like her, the rest were black labs. She was black and tan with the cutest tan eyebrows! She was about 6 weeks old and curled up in my arms immediately. My sister had come with me and she rode in her lap the whole way home! We got to the house and she immediately met her big brother Moose (a black lab) and her cat brother BJ! She was in love instantly. She grew up being the most loving dog there ever was! She used to be super naughty and chewed everything and would wander off outside for hours. One day when we moved to our new house, we let her run off leash with her brother moose and the neighbors dog and from then on she always came right when you called her and stopped chewing things! Eventually we moved again and she still remembered all her tricks and always came back when called. She wanted to be by your side and getting petted as long as you would let her! She loved to go for rides in the truck, she always hung her head out the window or layed her head in your lap. She was the absolute sweetest dog ever!! A couple years later when she was about 8 she was diagnosed with Diabetes :( we started a rigorous program of a healthy diet and her insulin twice a day. She seemed to start feeling a little better, but it was very hard to regulate her sugar. She was constantly thirsty and hungry and she used to steal food off the counters! She would take and eat a whole loaf of bread if we weren't careful!! We used to call her belle the bread bandit!!! After about 3 years she kept going downhill but was still always SO happy no matter what. Always loving on people and wanting attention. One morning I woke up to find her having a seizure and she was just continously seizing :( I rushed her to the emergency vet but Its over 30 min away and unfortunately she passed about a minute before we pulled into the parking lot :( I miss her every single day she was my heart! I will always remember her silly goofy attitude and her loveable attitude. She never met a stranger and was so loved. We gave her a great life and I know she was happy.
